YouTube Support
Only eligible creators, such as channels in the YouTube Partner Program, can chat with or email YouTube Creator Support, from the Chat button in YouTube Studio or the Help Center; everyone else gets the Help Center, the YouTube Help Community and @TeamYouTube on X.
To contact YouTube Creator Support, sign in with a channel that is eligible for it, usually one in the YouTube Partner Program, and click Chat at the top right of YouTube Studio, or use the contact options in the YouTube Help Center (Get help as a YouTube Creator). Channels outside the program cannot chat with or email a person; their routes are the Help Center, the YouTube Help Community run by TeamYouTube, and @TeamYouTube on X. Some creators first get an AI chat, powered by Gemini, before a person.

Who can contact YouTube Creator Support?
Creator Support by chat and email is a benefit of the YouTube Partner Program: YouTube lists "access to our Creator Support teams" among what the program gives (YPP overview). Being signed in to the right channel matters: if you manage several, switch to the one in the program before looking for Chat or Email, or the options will not appear. If you are eligible and still cannot get through, YouTube asks you to use Send feedback.
Older rules were stricter. George Vanous, who runs the Freedom! network, recorded that live chat once needed 25,000 subscribers and 100,000 watch hours, and that from Oct 1, 2020 chat replies came within about 30 seconds against about 24 hours by email; English chat then ran 24/7. Those details date from 2019 to 2021 and are not on today's Help pages.
How do I chat with YouTube Creator Support?
- Sign in to YouTube Studio with the eligible channel.
- Click Chat at the top right. (Older Studio layouts, as George Vanous noted in 2021, put it under the question mark icon, then Contact the creator support team.)
- Describe the problem. For some creators an AI assistant answers first.
Chat can help with account problems, policy and copyright questions, account and channel management, technical questions and Content ID (Get help as a YouTube Creator). The AI chat can troubleshoot but cannot make changes to your account.
Ask Studio, the AI assistant inside YouTube Studio and opened with the sparkle icon at its top right, answers technical and channel questions too, and can hand eligible creators with High Touch Support to a human agent queue (Learn about Ask Studio).
@TeamYouTube on X
TeamYouTube is YouTube's support and education team. On X it answers creators, viewers and subscribers from Monday at 9 AM PT to Friday at 5 PM PT in six languages (Get help from @TeamYouTube on X). Tag @TeamYouTube (not @YouTube) and include:
- The channel or video URL
- Screenshots of the problem
- The device you use
Never post your email address, phone number or payment details in a public post.
@TeamYouTube cannot help with:
- Problems on non-Google devices such as Roku or Fire TV
- Copyright disputes with a rights holder, or legal disputes
- Reactivating or removing AdSense accounts
- Hacked channels (go to Creator Support or Hacked Channel Recovery)
- Disagreeing with a policy decision
For billing, subscriptions, refunds and lockouts on YouTube Premium, YouTube TV or YouTube Music, use those products' own support by email, phone or chat.
George Vanous's notes record @TeamYouTube helping channels that were not in the program, including fixing an "inactive content owner" error for one channel, and, in 2019, a channel being remonetized after sending TeamYouTube videos and screenshots that showed its editing work.
The Help Center and Help Community
The Help Center holds YouTube's official answers and is the source this viki cites. The Help Community is a forum where TeamYouTube Community Managers post updates and other users answer; featured posts carry YouTube's announcements. YouTube also runs the YouTube Viewers and YouTube Creators channels for tips and news.
For specific problems there are forms that do not need Creator Support: the hacked channel assistant (Hacked Channel Recovery), the termination appeal (Channel Termination), copyright forms (Copyright Strikes, Counter Notifications) and the strike appeal in Studio (Community Guidelines Strikes).
What support can and cannot change
Support explains and investigates; it rarely overturns. George Vanous shared one creator's 2023 chat about a reused content demonetization: the agent repeated the policy, said there was no way to pass the chat to a manager, and pointed to Send feedback. George's verdict was that the agent "could just as well be ChatGPT", and that the useful part was the policy line it quoted, which explained the decision (see Inauthentic and Reused Content and YPP Suspension Appeals). That is his opinion from one case, but the lesson holds: read exactly which policy support names, and fix that.
Frequently asked questions
How do I contact YouTube support directly? If your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program, click Chat at the top right of YouTube Studio or use the Help Center's contact options. Other users can post in the YouTube Help Community or tag @TeamYouTube on X.
Does YouTube have a phone number for creators? YouTube Help lists no phone support for creators: Creator Support is chat and email for eligible channels. Phone support exists for paid products such as YouTube Premium and YouTube TV billing.
Why can't I see the Chat option in YouTube Studio? Chat is limited to eligible creators, such as YouTube Partner Program members. Make sure you are signed in to the eligible channel; if you still cannot reach support, use Send feedback.
Can @TeamYouTube help with a hacked channel? No. @TeamYouTube sends hacked channels to YouTube Creator Support and the hacked channel assistant on YouTube Help.
Is YouTube's support chat a bot? Some creators first reach an AI-enhanced chat powered by Gemini, trained on the YouTube Help Center. It can troubleshoot but cannot change your account; people handle the rest.

YouTube Partner ProgramThe YouTube Partner Program (YPP) is how creators earn from YouTube. Ads need 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 public watch hours in 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days; fan funding and Shopping open earlier, at 500 subscribers. New applicants need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views from Feb 1, 2027.

Content IDContent ID is YouTube's automatic copyright system, which scans every upload against reference files from rights holders and places a claim on a match that blocks, monetizes or tracks the video. A claim is not a strike, and only owners of exclusive rights to a large body of often-uploaded material qualify to use it.
-
Hacked Channel RecoveryTo recover a hacked YouTube channel, first recover the Google Account that owns it (password reset and Google's account recovery), then undo the hacker's changes with YouTube Studio's cleanup tool, then secure the account with 2-Step Verification; YouTube's hacked channel assistant helps in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
-
Channel TerminationYouTube terminates a channel for three strikes in 90 days, repeated violations, one case of severe abuse or a channel dedicated to breaking a policy. You can appeal in YouTube Studio within a year, twice, and a pilot lets some terminated creators ask for a new channel after a year.
-
Copyright StrikesA YouTube copyright strike comes when a video is removed after a legal takedown request. It expires after 90 days once you complete Copyright School, and three active strikes put the channel up for termination.
-
Counter NotificationsA YouTube counter notification is the legal request to restore a video removed for copyright by mistake or misidentification. The claimant gets 10 US business days to show they have sued; if not, YouTube puts the video back.
